Radar Hardware Manager

The select candidate will manage the operation of a small Hardware Engineering Group, including staffing, scheduling, and budgeting to meet broadly stated organizational goals.

  • This is a technical managerial roll. You should come from a hardware design background, and be able to lead, manage and grow a small group . 
  • It is crucial that you have Radar experience
  • Reviews annual performance appraisals for assigned staff and prepares reviews for direct reports. Responsible for maintaining a group standard of high quality and timely completion of tasks. Develops staff by providing challenging assignments, technical and programmatic guidance and provide training opportunities so they remain up to date in their technical areas. Provides input to the Engineering Director in regards to the annual budget. Participates as part of management in establishing long-range goals and objectives.
  • Executes technical programs assigned in a cost effective, competent manner by allocating assigned technical staff and financial resources to accomplish objectives. Assures completion of major technical programs by providing correct definition, interpretation, resolution and decisions in solving associated engineering problems.
  • Plan and develop new activities by utilizing the engineering and technical capabilities and results of the Hardware Engineering Group to provide novel solutions to customer problems or create new technology areas of potential business interest to the company.
  • Promotes engineering advancement by providing expert guidance and counseling to other staff members working on engineering problems requiring broad experience and technical insight.
  • Maintains position as an authority on the state-of-the-art in radar systems by being fully cognizant of related work in other organizations, companies, and laboratories.
  • Communicates program results to the customer, management, and the technical community by writing papers and conducting technical seminars and briefings on complex technical subjects. Negotiates critical and controversial issues with top level engineers and Program Managers, customers and clients. Insures technical quality of the program by maintaining an awareness of the advancements through journal research, participation in technical forums, interaction with technical personnel at other sites, and publication of results in technical journals.
  • Ensures that the Hardware Engineering Group interacts effectively with other similar groups (Software, Systems, Program Management) and their leader to ensure that overall organizational objectives are accomplished.

Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering. Master or PhD preferred. The successful candidate will have a minimum of 10 years experience with a Bachelors Degree, 8 years of experience with a Masters Degree, or 4 years of experience with a PhD.

  • Relevant Hardware design experience in the development of sophisticated electronic systems required.
  • The successful candidate will have at least 3 years of management experience managing a group of engineers.
  • An understanding of staffing within a matrix engineering organization preferred.
  • Design experience on radar or communications (or similar complexity circuits) Hardware strongly preferred.

Must be eligible and willing to obtain DOD security clearance. Current/active DoD security clearance preferred.

                   Senior Synthetic Aperture Radar Engineer

As the lead Systems Engineer, required to perform radar systems analysis (both SAR and GMTI) and define hardware and software system requirements for the existing family of Lynx radars and those currently under development.

The successful candidate will work closely with the Chief Scientist to define performance parameters for all future radar development efforts and lead the company in development new capabilities and modes for GMTI.

The candidate will support customer meetings, provide leadership on proposal efforts and be able to present information at technical meetings and conferences. 

Requirements:  

Minimum Qualifications:

The position requires a BS in Engineering or related field and 15 or more years of experience preferably on radar systems and airborne SAR and GMTI. Masters or Doctorate in Electrical Engineering or related is desired.

Must be well organized and able to work on multiple programs, have a strong understanding of current radar signal processing and control, airborne radar systems architectures and UAV system integration.

Proficient with Matlab and other simulation/analysis tools is highly desirable.

Current Secret Clearance or ability to obtain Clearance is required.

Senior Radar Systems Engineer

The individual should have 10 to 15 years of technical and program experience in research   and development of radar systems, subsystems, and RF components and a minimum education level of a BS or MS in engineering.  

The individual must  be knowledgeable and/or skilled in radar systems design, RF, and communication systems, signal processing and solid state RF components.   

The candidate will manage multiple IRAD tasks, lead proposal writing teams, manage small Government development contracts, and conduct planning for future strategic and company presentations with regard to future radar and RF technology, capabilities, and requirements.

The individual must have excellent oral presentation skills and be capable of organizing and writing papers and proposals.

Researches, develops, designs, and tests electrical components, equipment, systems, and networks.  Designs  electrical equipment, facilities, components, products, and systems for commercial, industrial, and domestic purposes.

                                 Radar Signal Processing Engineer

Radar Algorithm Software design Engineer

P2000 Software Development Team Member, Algorithm Specialist. The P2000 project is a fully funded, multiyear, full lifecycle program. The overall program includes a development team of 17+ engineers, software professionals, and support staff working in a common development environment to produce real-time data collection and data quality assurance systems, as well as post mission (off-line) calibration and analysis systems.

This specific position is for a primary radar algorithm development specialist for the post mission systems.

Selected candidate will work with and update the program Algorithm Specification Document (ASD), design and assist others in the design of algorithms, and code algorithms as required.

Requirements of a very dynamic customer entail restructuring, redesigning and rewriting selected existing algorithms and as well as continued expansion in algorithm development beyond program delivery dates and into the foreseeable future.

The team will develop software under local standards as part of a movement toward SEI CMM Level 3 certification.

Work will be accomplished using Intel PC Platforms running Windows XPS, and utilizing Java as the primary programming language.

System will be designed using Object Orientated Design (OOD) and Analysis methodologies. Position reports to the Post Mission Software Section Manager.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Bachelor’s Degree.

  • Ten years experience in radar algorithm (DSP) development, specifically working with internal radar parameters (I/Q) and radar phenomenon (noise, clutter, RFI).

  • Requires leadership experience in defining project goals and schedules and tracking same; capable of overseeing and mentoring others in the accomplishment of scientific algorithms; five years experience in large-scale development projects.

  • Extensive experience in Matlab or other engineering analysis tools. Working knowledge of Object Oriented Design (OOD), along with Ada, C++ or Java programming skills (beyond academic usage).

  • Must be able to obtain a TS/SSBI clearance.

  • DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

    Master’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, Physics or Mathematics.

  • Ten years experience in programming scientific applications.

  • Project lead experience. Capable of briefing/explaining algorithms to scientific degreed customers.

  • Experience with Rational Clearcase/Clearquest configuration management tools.

  • Experience with MS Office Professional applications.

  • Major software full life-cycle development project expertise.

  • A current TS/SSBI clearance

Requires leadership in defining goals and schedules for algorithm development and tracking same. 

Extensive experience in Matlab or other engineering analysis  tools required. 

Working knowledge of OOD and programming experience in modern languages highly desirable, but secondary to radar algorithm experience.
